A good training partner will push you to workout harder and better. You’ll also have someone to answer to if you skip a day. Just remember, when comes to choosing a training partner, close friends aren’t always a good idea. If you’re not careful you could waste precious gym time exercising your jaws. Instead, choose a partner with similar goals to you and is just as dedicated to reaching them.
If you don’t like lifting weights or distance running, try playing a team sport like basketball or soccer. You may find that the competition brings out the best in you and you’re able to push yourself much harder than you would if you were working out alone.

Mix It Up
If you’re bored with your workouts, it may be time to mix things up. Try cross training. If you run, try riding a bike. If you lift weights, start swimming. Always in the gym? Try something outdoors like kayaking. Learning new skills keeps things interesting and that can keep you motivated. It’ll also help make you a better all around athlete.
